Great Dining® Competition

Today, everyone in your group will become a chef in this savory corporate team building event! They will feel like they’re on a TV show when they break into teams and prepare for their Great Dining® Competition.

Every chef knows that to begin this delicious, multicourse, culinary team building event, you need a chef’s hat! So, armed with expert instructions and all the materials, each member of each team will construct and decorate their own chef’s hat with their name and a “Team Name” their group has chosen.

Our Great Dining program now features Apple iPads® delivering text, audio and video clues, Culinary Trivia, exciting gaming challenges, and the ability to capture and save all your memories of this truly heartwarming event with photos and video of your team in action.

With chef’s hats on heads, it’s time to start the first challenge. Every dish requires a recipe of ingredients, so to tune your team’s skills, we have already prepared a dish for our teams to taste. Each team member gets to taste our creation and together as a team decides what they think the ingredients are from a list of possibilities.

When teams are finished checking off their choices, the “taste test” score sheets will be collected and the highest ranked teams will have first pick to prepare one of the various dishes you have chosen to make up your group’s gourmet dinner. Your team will be making one of the appetizers, salads, entrees or desserts.

Let the cooking competition begin! Teams will now know what dish they are making, but not necessarily how to make it. So they must first decide what ingredients in what amounts their team needs to make their dish.

Team captains from the highest-ranking teams in the taste test challenge will be the first chefs to shop at our fresh produce marketplace for the ingredients their team will need to prepare their dish for the entire group. As your teams prepare their masterpieces, our Chef will be roving the room to offer assistance and give advice to all those who ask.

After the preparations are complete, each team must design the presentation of their dish which will be one of the factors in the final judging. Completed dishes are placed on long buffet tables and our chef and support staff will then taste test each creation and award Culinary Medals of Honor to the winning teams based on taste, presentation and the teamwork they observed during the program.

And yes, after the Great Dining® Competition Awards Presentation, your group gets to eat everything in the room! Bon Appetit!

Other versions of the Great Dining® Competition Program include:

I just wanted to quickly advise that last night our UHC Great Dining team builder was a great success. Thanks you to you and your team. Your facilitators did a super job with setup, instruction and execution. The group was very engaged, had fun and loved eating their creations. Looking forward to working with you possibly again on UHC Pinnacle.
